EU referendum: Ask David Cameron YOUR questions on Brexit

It's Prime Minister's Questions as you have never seen it before and we are putting you – our readers – in the driving seat.

David Cameron has agreed to take part in an exclusive Shropshire Star question and answer session about the EU where you will get to ask the questions.

Be it the crisis in farming, Britain's future in the European Union, the situation facing hauliers in Calais, or the junior doctors' contract, the line of questioning will be in your hands.

Shropshire Star editor Martin Wright said: "We recently held a readers' poll which showed that many readers had strong views about Britain's role in the European Union, with a clear majority thinking it was

time for us to leave the EU.

"Every day our letters page is full of intelligent and insightful comments from our readers about the issues which affect them, and this is a unique opportunity for people to ask questions that they might not normally be able to get answers to.

"I am sure that Shropshire Star readers will come up with thought-provoking questions which are distinctly different from the sort the Prime Minister normally gets asked when he appears at the dispatch box, and invite Mr Cameron to tackle the issues which affect the people who live in our county."

Shrewsbury MP Daniel Kawczynski said it was an excellent opportunity and urged readers to take part.

"It's extremely important to challenge the Prime Minister at all times on policy and direction," said Mr Kawczynski.

"It's a sign of a healthy democracy and I would urge readers to submit questions which specifically relate to the importance of securing additional government financial support for rural councils like ours."

Telford MP Lucy Allan also said she hoped Shropshire Star readers would make the most of the opportunity.

"I encourage readers to write in with questions to the Prime Minister." she said.

"Scrutinising the Government is an important part of our democracy and I look forward to seeing reader's questions, as well as the Prime Minister's responses."

So now it is over to you – we want you to send us your questions.

It is now approaching the first anniversary of Mr Cameron's General Election victory, and six years since he first became PM.

Through the Shropshire Star, he is giving readers the opportunity to quiz him on the topics which matter to you.

What would you like to see change over the next few years? And what would you like to see the Prime Minister do about it?

We will select the 10 most common questions, which will be put before the Prime Minister for him to reply to.

Maybe you're interested in hearing the PMs views on why we should remain in the European Union?

Or perhaps you want to grill him on the future of health services in the country.

Mr Cameron will answer the questions over the coming two weeks and we will publish them in both the paper and online.

So let us know what you want to ask him and maybe your question will be selected and put to the PM.
