Charlotte Rose Blakeway, 17, of Greenfield Cottage, Bromlow near Minsterley was discovered submerged under the water of the bath by her mother on the morning of April 18.

She was rushed to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital where she was pronounced dead. A post mortem was carried out and the cause of death was given by the pathologist as drowning due to epilepsy.

Coroner for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, Mr John Ellery opened the inquest at the Shirehall in Shrewsbury and adjourned it to a full hearing which will take place on September 15.

Tributes for Charlotte Blakeway were led by her mother Elizabeth, who described her daughter as a "bubbly and happy" girl.

Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs, also paid tribute to Charlotte. He met Charlotte, a fan of the soap, three years ago and pictures of the meeting were posted on her Facebook page.

Charlotte was said by her mother to be a talented singer who was studying music and drama at sixth form and dreamed of becoming an actress.

Elizabeth said: "Charlotte had her whole life in front of her, she was a bright, beautiful girl.

"She was just loved by so many, and although she was a very typical teenager, she had an inner warmth."
