Two fire crews were called to the Shawbury Park area in the countryside between Shawbury and the north edge of Shrewsbury after the blaze broke out at about 7pm yesterday.

Crews used beaters and a two water jets to put out the fire, which involved 800 square meters of grass.

The fire was out after about half an hour.

A spokesman for Shropshire fire and rescue said the blaze was thought to have spread from controlled burning in the area.
