Two fire engines were sent from Bridgnorth to the scene in Eardington just after 3pm today.

Services at the Severn Valley Railway were disrupted because of the fire measuring 10 metres by 50 metres.

The crews used beaters and a hose to tackle the fire which was under control by 4pm.

The news comes after arsonists were blamed for a fire at a popular beauty spot on the Panorama, above Llangollen, on Sunday.

Last week there were also two gorse and bracken fires in Snowdonia.
