Two injured in three-vehicle Telford crash

Two people were injured in a three-vehicle smash in Telford today.

A man in his 20s and a woman suffetred minor injuries after the crash, which involved a van, a red Seat and a black Audi.

Police and an ambulance crew were in attendance on the A518 between Donnington and Newport, about half a mile from the Clocktower Roundabout.

The crash, which happened at about 8.10am, saw the black Audi and a van left on the side of the road.

Laura Maltby, of West Mercia Police, said: "We were called to a three-vehicle collision on the A518.

"The incident involved a black Audi, a red Seat Ibiza and a white Ford Transit van."

Jamie Arrowsmith, of West Midlands Ambulance Service, said one ambulance attended the scene after a call from police.

"We were called by West Mercia Police to the scene of a crash between three vehicles," he said.

"There was a man in his 20s with slight back and neck pain. He refused hospital treatment and went home at the scene.

"There was a woman who was treated, but she decided to make her own way to hospital."

Workmen were on the scene to check over the van at just after 9am this morning.

The Audi, which had seen significant damage at the back, remained on the side of the road on a grass verge.
