A silver Mazda was driven through the double doors of Bodycare in High Street, to allow thieves to get into the shop, loading the boot with cosmetics.

The theft happened just after midnight in the early hours of yesterday.

Shop manager, Deborah McCade, said they were alerted by the alarm company and police were already on scene when they arrived.

She said: "We got to the shop and the police were already there and we witnessed the damage.

"They drove into the doors with the car then loaded the boot up with goods.

"It was mainly perfume and gift sets and Christmas gift sets.

"They could have got away with a lot more but a witness saw it happening and called 999 to alert the police so they didn't have much time to get as much as they could have done."

She said the damage was mainly to the double doors at the front of the shop, which caused it to close yesterday because it was unsafe, but it has now been repaired and the shop reopened today.

The car then left the scene after the theft and officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who was in High Street late on Tuesday night and might have seen the vehicle or the offenders, or has any information which would help them with their enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111 or via their website, www.crimestoppers-uk.org quoting incident 9S of December 28.
