The attack happened on Newhouse Lane around 2.30pm on Saturday when the victim was walking her Jack Russell.

As she passed another woman, who was with two light-coloured dogs, the dogs became aggressive and started to snarl.

They pulled on their lead and attacked the Jack Russell - biting it around the neck and head. The owner was also bitten on her leg.

A man - believed to be with the woman and the two dogs - then held down the dogs as the Jack Russell owner rescued her dog.

The Jack Russell received treatment for its injuries and the owner was left shaken up by the incident.

The woman with the two dogs is believed to be in her 50s and police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the attack or knows the owner.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting incident 0662S of October 29.
