Man 'pulls blade' on teenager in Oakengates

A man has 'pulled a blade' on a teenager during an attempted robbery on a Telford street.

Police officers are appealing to the Oakengates community for information after the incident on Hadley Road.

The victim, an 18-year-old man, was walking with friends along a pathway that links Sommerfeld Road and Wombridge Way.

A man has then approached the group from the opposite direction and as he passed he is believed to have produced a bladed weapon and asked for money.

The victim replied that they did not have anything and the group ran along the path toward Wombridge Way. The man has pursued the group for a short distance before leaving the scene in the opposite direction toward Hadley Road.

He is described as white, approximately 6ft tall but possible shorter and of a medium build. He is believed to be in his late twenties. He also had a ginger beard, brown eyes and spoke with a local accent.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark grey tracksuit, made of a waterproof material and wore his hood up.

He also wore grey and brown Adidas trainers.
