Three injured in crash on A454 near Bridgnorth

Three people have been injured with one needing to be cut from his car after a three-vehicle crash near Bridgnorth.

The A454 east of Bridgnorth was blocked after the collision near Swancote, with long queues of traffic on both sides of the carriageway.

The accident happened at about 4.40pm.

Jamie Arrowsmith, of West Midlands Ambulance Service, said three ambulances and a paramedic support officer had been called to the scene, along with police and fire crews.

He said a woman patient was being treated for cuts to her face and male patient for an abdominal injury and elbow pain.

A third patient needed to be cut from his car by fire crews, though the extent of his injuries are not yet known.

Four fire appliances including the rescue tender were sent from Bridgnorth, Telford Central and Wellington along with an operations officer.
