Bridgnorth driver arrested after motorcyclist suffers serious injuries in crash

A driver from Bridgnorth has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in collision with two cars near Wolverhampton.

The West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the crash on Bridgnorth Road in Wightwick by the Mermaid Inn at 7.32pm last night.

The fire service and police also attended, and nearby Windmill Lane was closed.

The biker, who is in his 30,s suffered a fractured leg, abdominal and pelvic injuries and was taken by land ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

One of the car drivers sustained chest injuries and went to New Cross Hospital by a second land ambulance.

A Midlands Air Ambulance landed but flew off again after about 25 minutes with no patients.

West Midlands Police confirmed that the driver of a Ford KA, a 37-year-old Bridgnorth man, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
