Police were called to a house at De Quincey Fields in Upton Magna, near Shrewsbury, at around 12.51pm.

Connie Osborne, a spokeswoman for West Mercia Police, said the incident had involved people who knew each other.

She said that armed police were sent to the scene after reports that one of the people involved had access to guns.

Ms Osborne said: "We were called at 12.51pm to a private address on De Quincey Fields housing estate to reports of a dispute between persons. They were believed to know each other.

"Armed officers were deployed after there were concerns of access to fire arms. No one was injured and a quantity of fire arms and fire licences were seized.

"A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of breaching the peace."
