A fire crew from Tweedale was called out to Wantage, off Woodside Avenue, at about 1am this morning, where the cars were found to be on fire.

The crew used two hose reel jets to put out the blaze in about 20 minutes.

A spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said the four cars were about 50 per cent damaged by fire, while two others and a commercial vehicle nearby were slightly affected.

Both police and fire investigation officers are treating the fire as suspicious, although the exact cause is not yet known.
