50 cannabis plants seized in Shrewsbury house raid

Around 50 cannabis plants have been seized from a house in Shrewsbury during a police raid.

West Mercia Police said a warrant was carried out on August 25 at an address in Monkmoor after they were given information that drugs were being cultivated at a house in the area.

Enquiries and research into the property were carried out ahead of the raid, where between 40 and 50 plants were seized and destroyed.

Police say they have found a suspect who will be attending Shrewsbury Police Station to be interviewed regarding the cannabis.

West Mercia Police have urged the public to continue to report suspicious activity to allow them to continue to combat drugs crime in Shropshire.
