Thomas Gavin Price and Wayne Edwin Price, both from Oswestry, have denied causing grievous bodily harm, but have admitted causing actual bodily harm.

CCTV footage captured outside the TopShop in Laburnum Drive, Oswestry, showed Thomas Price, 23, of College Road, and his father Wayne Price, 45, of Lime Grove, punching and kicking Mark Price, who is no relation, until he lay unconscious.

Mr Kevin Jones, prosecuting, said: "We might wonder if they left him for dead," Mr Jones said. "Thomas Price may have thought they had. When the police found him later, the first thing he asked was 'is he dead?'."

Giving evidence to the trial at Shrewsbury Crown Court, Mark Price said: "I went inside the shop and as I stepped outside again I was approached by Tom. He was shouting and effing and blinding. I was pedalling backwards and I tripped down a kerb. I remember being kicked in the face, put in an armlock and punched around the face.

"A car pulled up and I saw a big bloke running towards me I knew was Wayne, Tom's father.

"I thought 'stay on the camera' and I got back to the front of the shop where the CCTV camera was."

The trial continues.
