Person cut free as M54 crash leads to rush-hour delays
A person had to be cut free after a crash which caused lengthy delays on the M54 this evening.
Three saloon cars were involved in the smash near Junction 7 for Wellington just before 5pm.
The crash happened in the westbound carriageway and caused tailbacks for drivers heading towards Shrewsbury.
Police, paramedics and fire engines from Telford and Shrewsbury were all sent to the scene where one person was trapped in their car.
Firefighters used cutting equipment to release the casualty from their car.
The accident completely blocked the exit slip road and delays for drivers were made worse by a broken down tanker on the same side of the motorway between junctions 6 and 7.
Traffic continuing on the A5 to Shrewsbury could pass the incidents on the outside lane but the exit road at Junction 7 was not fully back open until around 6.15pm.
