It's puppy love at first sight as Shrewsbury dog centre litter find new homes

They are as cute as they come – and this litter of nine will soon by off to new homes. The abandoned puppies have been looked after by the Dogs Trust Shrewsbury up until now.

Welsh staff at the rehoming centre came up with Celtic names for the pug crossbreeds in the hope that when Saint David's Day arrived on Wednesday, they would all be settling in with their new families.

And eight-week-olds Dafydd, Geraint and Dylan – along with their sisters Cerys, Bronwyn, Blodwyn, Dee, Cristyn and Glenys – this week found their furry-tail ending as all have stolen the hearts of their special someone.

Karina Grimwade, assistant manager at Dogs Trust Shrewsbury, said: "The litter of nine arrived just over a week ago and when it was suggested that they have Welsh names, we really hoped people would have fallen in love with them by the time the patriotic celebrations were underway – and they did.

"They are absolutely gorgeous and have received plenty of cuddles, or cwtchs as our Welsh colleagues say. We have started training the pups and their new owners are all ready to get them used to everything the big wide world has to offer so they become happy adult dogs."

As you can see, it must have been puppy love at first sight.
