From Shrewsbury to Cardiff: Appeal to reunite lost cat with owners

Perhaps he has used up one of his nine lives but a wandering moggy has found his way all the way from Shrewsbury to Cardiff and now vets are trying to reunite him with his owner.

The 'leggy' black short haired male cat was found wandering in the street in the Welsh capital looking lost and alone.

He was taken to a nearby vets where he was scanned and a microchip revealed he was registered to an address in Longden Coleham.

However, the phone number of the registered property is out of order and it is unclear whether the friendly feline made his way to Cardiff under his own steam or was taken there by other means.

Becky Chandler, from Valley Vets, said: "The cat, who is approximately eight years old, was found wandering by a member of the public on Whitchurch Road, which is not far from our practice.

"He was brought in and given a check up and he seemed fine. So we scanned him for a microchip which found that he was registered to an address in Shrewsbury.

"The phone number he was registered to doesn't work so perhaps his owner has moved to Cardiff and not updated his details.

"We know his name and now we are hoping that his owner will come forward. He has no distinguishing features apart from being quite leggy and friendly.

"Perhaps the one thing that makes him stand out is that he is a tall cat. He is a really loving cat, so someone must be missing him"

The vets have now taken to Facebook in a bid to reunite him with his owner.

Anyone who knows the cat and can shed some light on his arrival in Cardiff should call Valley Vets on 02920 529444.
