Severn Hospice's annual Classic Vehicle Rally will return to Attingham Park on August 14, when 250 classic cars and vintage vehicles will be on display at the stately home.

David Sear, organiser of the rally said: "We are looking forward to returning to Attingham Park.

"Our Classic Vehicle Rally is a wonderful day. A great opportunity for enthusiasts to get together and show their vehicles, while raising money for such an important local charity.

"The cars will travel through the Shropshire lanes in the morning and arrive at Attingham Park for 12noon.

"Everyone who comes along to visit will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite vehicle on the day, and the winner will be presented with a trophy.

"Last year's winners were Nell Hancox and John Perry with their stunning 1937 Wolseley 14/56."

Nell's husband Mike Hancox and John first bought the Wolseley 14/56 in 2011.

They collected the car from Scotland and set to work restoring it to its original beauty.

Sadly Mike passed away just two months after the car was restored in 2014, but his wife Nell takes comfort in the fact that Mike got to see his work complete and had the opportunity to drive the beautiful car.

Rebekah Ingham, events and programme officer at Attingham Park, said: "We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone here again on August 14. It is always a fantastic atmosphere."

Entry to the rally is via Attingham Park's main entrance where standard National Trust entry fees will apply.
