Wayne Goldring began taking aerial photographs with his drone earlier this year. And since then he has snapped stunning scenes of the county's rolling hills, towns and tourist hotspots.

Mr Goldring, 34, from Cantlop. near Shrewsbury, runs SSTV – a company offering filming services.

He says primarily the company works filming motorsports and he mainly uses the drone to help cover races.

But when he is enjoying a day off in his home county, he tries to take out his drone to capture stunning landscape shots.

He said: "There are plenty of other places I'd like to capture but it is just getting the time to get out.

"Most of the stuff I have done has only been local to me, or if I have been passing through."

Mr Goldring says that despite working as a cameraman and making videos for about seven or eight years, using the drone is an entirely different technique.

Because of his work, Mr Goldring is fully licensed and insured to use his drone for aerial photography.

He is keen to emphasise the need to use drones legally and safely at all times.

He said: "To be able to use a drone for commercial use in the UK you need permission from the Civil Aviation Authority and that involves a class-based course as well as a flight assessment, and once you show you are capable and most of all safe, you are issued with a permission, which coupled with insurance allows you to fly commercially.

"The differences between the old and new business vary a lot, but the two still crossover with the use of the drone."

"My company will actually be filming in Shropshire on September 3 when the Woodpecker Rally comes to Ludlow, it is a round of the BTRDA Championship that we cover, but there are a number of rally crews from the area that travel the UK doing the events that we cover."

He says he now wants to look at capturing some of the county's castles, once he has proper permissions.
