Moped rider taken to hospital after Telford crash

A moped rider has been taken to hospital following a collision with two cars in Telford.

The crash, involving a blue Rover, a grey Toyota and red Peugeot moped, happened on A442 Queensway between Hollinswood Interchange and Randlay Interchange on the northbound carriageway.

One lane was blocked for a period of time while emergency services were at the scene.

Connie Osborne, spokeswoman for West Mercia Police, said: "We called at 12.26pm to reports of an accident between a moped and two cars.

"The rider was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital following the accident.

"During the accident the moped came off the road."

The man, in his 40s, was immobilised and taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital as a precaution.

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: "A patient in their 40s was immobilised at the scene of the accident as a precaution before being taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital."
