A458 closed near Shrewsbury for emergency works
A main road near Shrewsbury has been closed for emergency works.

The A458 has been closed at Cross Houses while BT carries out repair work on a failed manhole near to The Hollies Junction.
It is not yet known what the extent of the damage to the manhole is or how long the road will be closed.
While the road is blocked between the Hollies Junction and The Chestnuts, a diversion route has been put in place.
Drivers are being directed from Much Wenlock via the A4169, A5223, M54, A5 to Emstrey Island and Thieves Lane.
A local diversion for light vehicles is in place from Cressage via the B4380 through Wroxeter, Atcham to Emstrey and vice versa.
All businesses are open as usual and access maintained at all times.
