Murder inquiry after bodies of man and woman found at Mid Wales property

Police are treating the death of a 51-year-old woman as murder afdter the bodies of a man and woman were been found at a rural property in Mid Wales.

Dyfed-Powys Police were called to the property near Machynlleth at 3.50pm yesterdayfollowing reports of the sudden death of the woman.

During a search of the area, a body of a 45-year-old man was also found within the grounds of the property.

This afternoon Detective Superintendent Steve Cockwell said: "Dyfed-Powys Police are continuing to investigate the deaths of two people at a property on the outskirts of Machynlleth.

"We are now treating the death of a 51-year-old female as murder, but at this time are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.

"The post mortem of a 45-year-old male is scheduled for tomorrow. We are still working to trace both individuals' next of kin."

The coroner has been informed.
