Man injured by bladed weapon in Shrewsbury street robbery

A balaclava-wearing attacker wounded a man with a bladed weapon in a Shrewsbury street as he demanded he hand over his things during an attempted robbery.

The 23-year-old victim was walking in Kynaston Road, Harlescott Grange, when he was approached by the attacker.

The robber, who was wearing a black balaclava which covered his face. He demanded the victim hand over his property.

The attacker then produced what is believed to be a bladed weapon and during an altercation the victim suffered a wound to his hand.

The offender, who was wearing blue Adidas tracksuit bottoms, a black jacket and black leather-style gloves, ran off in the direction of Lancaster Road.

Anyone who witnessed the attack at about 3pm on Wednesday is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 418s of March 23.
