A woman who died after taking an overdose of medication often used for animals did not intend to kill herself, an inquest has heard.

Susan Ann Goodall, 59, of Nordley, near Bridgnorth, died after taking an overdose at her home on October 25 last year.

The inquest, held at Shirehall in Shrewsbury, heard she had been treating one of her dogs with the medication 18 months previously.

Her family believed that she had been taking the medication herself to help her sleep, but may have accidentally taken too much.

Shropshire Coroner John Ellery said: "There is no evidence to suggest it was intended.

"I accept that it was an unintended consequence of her taking the drug."

Mr Ellery recorded a verdict of accidental death.
