Former Whitchurch scoutmaster admits 28 more child sex offences

A former Shropshire scoutmaster, already jailed for a string of sex assaults on boys, has admitted a further 28 charges involving another eight youngsters between 1967 and 1985.

Martyn Tucker, 69, was jailed for 12 years in 2014 for 26 offences between 1968 and 1978 on five victims, all young teenagers. Mold Crown Court heard at the time of the original hearing that some offences were carried out when he was assistant scout master of the Whitchurch scout troop.

Tucker also carried out abuse while he was the manager of Fosters menswear in the town, taking boys to the shop's changing rooms.

He was arrested at his home in Sealand Road, Chester, in the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal when one of his victims made a complaint to police.

On Tuesday, Caernarfon Crown Court heard that one of the new victims that had come forward was just 12 at the time.

He has now admitted further historic offences of indecent assault or gross indecency which took place between 1967 and 1985.

The court was told "statements of complaint" from new victims had been generated as a result of the publicity which surrounded the previous case which was heard in May 2014.

Tucker is due be sentenced for the new offences in August or September
