Daniel Kawczynski has become the latest Shropshire MP to throw his weight behind the leave campaign in the EU referendum.

He took to his Twitter account to tell his constituents that he would be campaigning for the Brexit camp.

The Shrewsbury and Atcham MP had reserved judgement over his stance on Europe, but made his views clear after David Cameron returned from negotiations with European leaders in Brussels.

The MP said in a statement: "I have officially informed my local association party chairman that I will be voting to leave EU. I am excited about forthcoming campaign. If we pull out I think our economy is so resilient we will be able to sign a trade agreement with the EU."

Mr Kawczynski was unavailable for further comment following his statement.

But his frustrations with the EU were apparent last week when he spoke of the "intransigence" of other European countries and his demands for more discussion on the Common Agricultural Policy.

"If you look at the chaos in the Eurozone you would have thought they would be more amenable," he said. "The way these negotiations are going it is pushing me towards pulling out of the EU. The UK will thrive either inside or outside."

Lucy Allan for Telford, and North Shropshire MP Owen Paterson have made it clear they are also in favour of leaving the EU.

The Wrekin's Mark Pritchard has come out in support of staying in Europe, while Ludlow's Philip Dunne and MP for Montgomeryshire Glyn Davies are still debating which side to back.

Owen Paterson, a former environment minister, is likely to be a leading member of the Brexit camp, declaring Mr Cameron's negotiations "very, very disappointing".

Mr Pritchard said: "For some, nothing the Prime Minister negotiated would ever have satisfied. The facts are, the PM is delivering on a referendum and got more for the UK than even Margaret Thatcher. If Cameron had parted the English Channel it still would not have satisfied some outers. The Prime Minister asked and he got. Not everything, but a lot."

Glyn Davies, MP for Montgomeryshire, said he would hold "at least 20 public meetings" before deciding which way to vote in the EU referendum. He said he believed the issue of Britain's relationship with EU should be decided by the people and now plans to hold the meetings across his Montgomeryshire constituency before the referendum is held.

"Does it make any difference how many MPs back 'Leave' or 'Remain'? It's the people's choice, and lots of them don't much like politicians, " he said on Saturday. MPs Philip Dunne, who is currently in India, and Lucy Allan were unavailable for comment.
