Arrest after cannabis plants found at Whitchurch house

More than 100 suspected cannabis plants were found at a house during a drugs raid.

A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of production of a controlled Class B drug with intent to supply following the discovery at a property in Station Road in Whitchurch yesterday.

The man has since been released on police bail until March 25.

Emily Dixon, spokeswoman for West Mercia Police, said: "A warrant took place at approximately 11am yesterday at a property in Station Road, Whitchurch.

"In excess of 100 plants, believed to be cannabis, were found at the address.

"A 57-year-old man from Whitchurch has been arrested on suspicion of production of a controlled drug Class B with intent to supply and is currently in custody."
