Student's laptop stolen from Newport school

A sixth form student's laptop, containing coursework and research, has been stolen from a Newport school.

The laptop was stolen from Newport Girls' High School on January 20 at the end of the school day.

The student had left her computer in the sixth form common room and when she returned the following day it was not there.

The machine was being used as a learning aid.

It is not believed the laptop was picked up by another student by mistake.

The laptop is a 17in widescreen Hewlett Packard machine, in a black material Targus carry case, worth around £450.

Anyone with information is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting ref 298S of Jan 22.
