Two more arrested after man stabbed in Oswestry

Police have made two further arrests after a man suffered stab wounds in Oswestry.

An 18-year-old man from Wrexham was arrested today and a 51-year-old man from Welshpool was arrested yesterday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, they remain in police custody at this time.

The arrests are linked to the incident at Castlefields, Oswestry on Saturday, January 23, in which a man sustained serious stab wounds.

Another 19-year-old man from Wrexham has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Luke Cross appeared at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court yesterday charged with one count of conspiracy to commit murder, one count of threats to kill and one count of threat to cause criminal damage.

Cross, of Mount View, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, was remanded in custody and will appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Monday.

Detective Inspector Mark Jones from West Mercia Police said: "Although three arrests and one charge have been made as part of our investigation, we would still like to hear from anyone who may have information which could assist us.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 603s of 23 January 2016."
