Conspiracy to murder charge after man stabbed in Oswestry

A man has been charged with conspiracy to murder in connection with a stabbing in Oswestry.

Luke Cross appeared at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court yesterday.

The 22-year-old, who was arrested on Wednesday, is charged with one count of conspiracy to commit murder, one count of threats to kill and one count of threat to cause criminal damage.

The charges are related to the stabbing of a man in Castlefields, Oswestry, at 8pm on Saturday.

Cross, of Mount View, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, was remanded in custody and will appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Monday.

A 19-year-old man from Coedpoeth, near Wrexham, was also arrested on Wednesday and remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Mark Jones, of West Mercia Police, said: "We are again appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time or who feels that they have any information relevant to this investigation to come forward."
