Police are asking for witnesses after an aggravated burglary at an address in Windsor Road, Arleston.

Officers said that at 5.50am one of the people in the home opened the front door and two men entered.

They demanded money before an altercation where the occupant suffered head injuries.

He called for the homeowner who woke up and came downstairs before another altercation took place and the intruders left.

They then started to knock on the back windows of the home and left the scene before the police arrived – but it is not known which way they went.

Both of the intruders have been described as white men in their twenties.

One was wearing grey jogging bottoms and the other was wearing dark clothing.

The injured man was treated at the scene but did not require hospital treatment and nothing was reported stolen.
