Thieves made off with a number of goods including a 46in LG TV, an X-Box One, Blu-Ray player and a digital camera, from the house on Park Court in Woodside.

The owner left the house at about 7.30am on Sunday, but when he returned home from the Princess Royal Hospital after receiving treatment he discovered the break-in.

Pc Paul Gough said: "This was a despicable crime committed whilst the householder was attending the local hospital for much needed medical treatment.

"I would appeal to anyone who knows anything about this crime or has been offered electrical goods cheaply in the area to contact the police at Telford."

Anyone with information is asked to call Telford Police on 101 quoting ref 276S of January 3.
