Pictures: Road closed as wall collapses in Telford
A Madeley road was today closed after a section of wall collapsed with workers trying to clear debris.
Coalport Road, close to the All Nations Pub was given an emergency closure after debris from the fallen wall went into the road.
Telford & Wrekin Council immediately dispatched workers to the site to clear the road and make it safe for motorists.
Jim Birtwhistle, landlord of the All Nations pub, said: "It has been precarious for a few years and there has been so much rain. All the water keeps coming down from the fields on top. Also some ivy got into the wall.
"About 5ft of the wall ended up in the road and a bit more has been taken down, just to make it safe and they've put up cones. But it is going to have to be fixed at some stage."
The collapse happened this morning between the All Nations and the entrance to Legges Way.
The road has now reopened.
