Married Shropshire couple accused of £667,000 theft from firm

A Shropshire husband and wife have appeared in court charged with stealing more than £667,000 from an engineering firm.

Rikki James Purchase, 37, and Aimee Purchase, 35, both of Hunters Gate, Much Wenlock, stand charged of the theft of £667,175.71 from MI Engineering Ltd between March 2013 and August 2014.

The couple are also jointly accused of money laundering activities of concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing criminal property, namely the cash, through various bank accounts they controlled or had access to during the same time period.

They pair appeared at Telford Magistrates Court yesterday and their case was committed to Shrewsbury Crown Court.

Both were bailed to appear there on March 14, where they are expected to enter pleas.
