Firefighters tackle house fire and chimney blaze

Firefighters had to deal with a house fire and chimney blaze.

Two crews were called to Blakemore in Brookside, Telford shortly before 7pm this evening when a fire broke out in a first-floor bedroom of a semi-detached home.

Crews used breathing apparatus, one hosereel jet, one main jet and one positive pressure ventilation fan to put out the fire.

They were off the scene by 7.30pm.

Earlier, two crews from Cleobury Mortimer were sent to a chimney fire in Knighton-on-Teme in Tenbury Wells at about 6.30pm.

One 13.5metre ladder, a hose reel jet and working at height gear were used to put out the fire.

Firefighters were off the scene by 7.30pm.
