The vehicles were stopped on West Centre Way, in Lawley.

The high visibility operation saw local police officers and members of Shropshire Operational Patrol Unit stop approximately 60 vehicles for road-side checks.

Pc Richard Jones said: "We conducted today's operation as part of our Christmas drink and drug-driving campaign.

"Breath tests and drug swipes were carried out and thankfully proved negative but we would like to remind drivers of the risks of driving the morning after drinking."

However, the operation resulted in three vehicles being seized for tax and insurance offences.
