Dr Laura Land has criticised Mr Hunt for "scaremongering" with comments he made about there being no doctors at hospitals at the weekends.

She took to Facebook to voice her concerns, claiming his words had led to deaths because people were delaying seeking medical attention.

It comes after an open letter she posted online earlier this year criticising the minister provoked a huge reaction from across the globe.

In her fresh post Dr Land, who is from Newtown and is believed to work in Telford, posted: "Dear Jeremy Hunt. Me again, I hope you're pleased with yourself. Your scaremongering is actually causing deaths now.

"People have died because you told them there aren't any doctors in hospitals at weekends. How does it feel to have people's blood on your hands?

"If my actions resulted in patients dying, I would be struck off.

"Despite 200,000 people signing a vote of no confidence in you, you are still sitting in your ivory tower, sneakily dismantling the NHS."

Dr Land's original open letter attracted almost 200,000 Facebook likes, 91,000 shares and 12,000 comments.

She initially took to Facebook in July after Mr Hunt was accused of launching a "wholesale attack on doctors" by the British Medical Association (BMA) after threatening to force them to work seven-day weeks.

She joined several doctors and other NHS workers who have launched attacks on the Mr Hunt on social media.

Last week the BMA rejected Mr Hunt's latest pay offer, which included an 11 per cent rise in basic pay. Union chiefs say Mr Hunt's basic pay offer was "misleading" as it would be "offset by changes to pay for unsocial hours".

In her most recent post, Dr Land added: "Dear Public. There are always doctors at hospitals over the weekend, there may not be one on every ward all the time, but they are there, and if there is an emergency or if you are unwell, they will be there for you.

"Do not doubt this. Despite what Cameron and Hunt may want you to think. Do not delay until Monday if you need medical attention."

She also criticised the 11 per cent pay rise for junior doctors, saying: "Oh and don't even get me started on your 11 per cent pay rise for doctors.

"If you take 40 per cent of our wages first, and then give us an 11 per cent pay rise, we are still much worse off. How stupid do you think we are?! I despair."
