She's just 10, but Tallulah Lewis-Schulz is a true inspiration to others after raising more than £10,000 in memory of her father.

Tallulah had her head shaved to raise money for Severn Hospice after her father Andreas died of cancer.

She thought she would raise around £500, but that shot up after a video of her story was seen online by more than 2.5 million people.

The money she has raised will go to Severn Hospice, where her father was cared for.

Tallulah, from Brockton near Much Wenlock, lost her long hair in front of her cheering classmates.

She said: "I was a little bit shocked when I first saw it, but I am used to it now and I may grow it into a short bob – I haven't decided yet.

"It was a nice way to raise money for the hospice and have been pleased with people's reaction, they have been supportive and very generous."

Mike Perry, community fundraising adviser for Severn Hospice said: "Tallulah is an inspirational young lady and it is easy to see why her story has resonated with so many people.

"To lose your dad at such a young age is heart-breaking. Tallulah has been so brave and was determined to raise money for our hospice so other families can benefit from the care we provide."

Andreas Schulz, 48, died from pancreatic cancer just six weeks after being diagnosed and Tallulah wanted to thank the local charity which cared for her dying father in his final days.

Tallulah said: "I heard about the Brave the Shave for Macmillan on the radio and decided I wanted to do something like that.

"I knew my hair would grow back, but I was a bit nervous on the day, but also excited at what it would look like.

"As well as raising money for Severn Hospice I also wanted to donate my hair to help children who have cancer."

It will go to Hereford-based charity the Little Princess Trust, to be made into wigs for children who've lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Tallulah's mother Sarah, 42, said her daughter was adamant about having her hair cut and kept on at her about it until it was organised.

She said: "Tallulah's sister Poppy, who is nine, was very worried about the hair cut, because she thought she was going to have a bald head – but we reassured her there would still be hair left.

"Tallulah also reassured her sister by telling her that however short her hair was, she would still be her sister."

The online Just Giving page set-up by Tallulah has raised £6,600 so far and with the rest of the money raised by the youngster through her efforts the total is set to exceed £10,000.

Mr Schulz, spent his final three weeks at Severn Hospice.

Just three days before he passed away, Andreas and Sarah got married.

The wedding was held at the Severn Hospice and the caring team arranged everything, including a small reception for the family.
