'Petrol bomb' thrown at Shrewsbury property in arson attack

Police say what they believe is a petrol bomb has been thrown at a property in Shrewsbury during an arson attack which set light to the garden.

West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses following the attack at an address on Mary Webb Road in Shrewsbury, between 12.30am and 12.40am this morning.

No one was injured during the incident, however damage was caused to the property.

Inspector Paul Mathison said " We believe this to be a targeted attack, with no wider threat to the public.

"We would urge anyone who may have been in the area at the time and who may have seen anything suspicious to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 34 of October 31."
