The women working at the Wheatland Service Station in Much Wenlock were ordered to lie on the ground when masked robbers took cash and cigarettes worth almost £800.

Yesterday at Shrewsbury Crown Court Stephen James Dale, 35, admitted a charge of robbery against two women, stealing £466 in cash and £293 of cigarettes and other goods.

The robbery took place on September 2014 at 9.45pm.

One of the women working in the shop at the service station suffered an arm injury when she was pushed to the ground.

Judge Peter Barrie adjourned sentence for reports and Dale, of Bernard Road, Tipton, West Midlands, was remanded in custody.

A second man, Ashley James Fay, 35, of Hillside Road, Dudley, has denied a charge of robbery. His trial was adjourned until January 11.
