Woman threatened in Telford 'handgun terror'

A woman has been threatened by two men with what is believed to be a black handgun in Telford.

Police say the 23-year-old woman was at a property in Spout Way when she opened the door to two unknown males who pointed what has been described as a black handgun with a wooden side at her.

The women then screamed before managing to close the door and the offenders left the scene on foot.

The incident took place between 9.15pm and 9.19pm last night and one of the offenders has been described as male, between 5ft 8 and 5ft 10 tall and of a medium build.

He was believed to be wearing a dark hooded jacket with a black scarf or balaclava which was covering his face and black gloves.

DS Ian Rutherford, from Telford CID said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information which could assist the investigation in what was an incredibly frightening and concerning incident for the victim and the local community.

"We would like to reassure the public that we are working hard to identify the individuals as soon as possible and a swift and thorough investigation is underway. Anyone with any information is asked to come forward to police as soon as possible by calling 101."
