Man and woman taken to hospital after Telford street attack

Two people were taken to hospital after they were attacked in Telford.

The assault happened in the early hours of yesterday in Tan Bank, Wellington, near to Pussycats Nightclub and Belmont Community Hall.

A male and female, believed to be brother and sister, were attacked at about 12.30am on Sunday.

The woman received cuts to her face, although it is unclear what injuries the male suffered.

Both were taken to the Princess Royal Hospital, after being treated at the scene by ambulance staff.

Terri-Anne Powell, spokeswoman for West Mercia Police said: "We were called just after 12.30am on Sunday following reports of a man and a woman being assaulted on Tan Bank, Wellington.

"There are currently no details about the injures the male received, however the woman was treated for cuts to her face."

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed both victims were taken to hospital.

The nightclub itself has also shared an appeal on Facebook asking for people to contact police with any information, which has been shared almost 300 times.
