At Shrewsbury Crown Court Andrew Walton admitted charges of the production of a class B drug, as well as possession and being involved in its supply.

Walton, 38, who at the time lived at Westbourne, Woodside, was given an eight-month prison sentence suspended for six months, a 12-month supervision order and was ordered to pay a £100 victim surcharge and £150 costs. Judge Peter Barrie ordered that the plants and other drugs paraphernalia be destroyed.

Mr Rupert Jones, prosecuting, said police who executed a warrant at the address found four cannabis plants inside the tent.

Mr Brendan Reedy, for Walton, said his client had started growing cannabis after being injured in a motorcycle accident.
