West Midlands Ambulance Trust experienced a huge increase in demand due to public events held across the region, including covering a Rugby World Cup match at Villa Park and attending the Fan Zone in Birmingham city centre.

Ambulance bosses have praised the work of its staff, who worked extra hours to make sure people were kept safe over one of the service's busiest weekends of the year.
