Three taken to hospital after crash near Whitchurch

Three people were taken to hospital after a two-car smash on a busy road.

Traffic piled up after the A525 was temporarily blocked following the crash, which took place at Redbrook Maelor, near Whitchurch, just after 4pm.

Fire crews from Whitchurch and Wrexham helped the casualties out of their cars before they were taken to hospital by ambulance.

A spokeswoman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "It was a two-car accident and there were three casualties.

"The fire service was called to assist them out of the cars and stabilise the vehicles."
