The youngster had been playing on the equipment at the Wrekin Road play park, Wellington.

Shropshire Fire Service received a call at 4.15pm on Saturday.

A fire crew from Wellington went to the playground and the child was released, uninjured, within 15 minutes.

It is not the first time firefighters have had to help out at a playground.

Last year a 10-year-old girl got stuck in a baby swing at a park in Spring Gardens, Shrewsbury.
