Man taken to hospital after Shrewsbury assault

A man needed hospital treatment following a late night assault in Shrewsbury.

Police were called to reports of an altercation outside Efes Kebab House in Castle Foregate.

They said upon arrival the incident had ended but a man in his 40s was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with facial injuries.

He then required further treatment which included surgery.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, which happened at about 4am on August 9, to call 101.
