Those objecting to plans for a 5MW solar farm on the Grade II-listed Henley Hall estate, near Ludlow, say it would be a blight on the landscape.

They have vowed to attend tomorrow's meeting of Shropshire Council's south planning committee to urge councillors to reject the project.

Councillor Viv Parry, Shropshire councillor for Ludlow South, said: "I think it is in the wrong place. I'm not against solar farms because they are needed but why pick an area of outstanding natural beauty?"

Tomorrow's meeting will be held at Shirehall in Shrewsbury at 2pm.
