Motorcyclist killed in minibus crash named

A motorcyclist who was killed in a collision with a minibus has been named.

Nigel Christopher Thompson, 49, of Quarry Bank, Brierly Hill, West Midlands, died at the scene on the A489 between Kerry and Sarn, near Newtown on Sunday.

In a statement, Mr Thompson's family said they will "sincerely miss him."

Katy Simmons, Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman, said officers are still appealing for people who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

She said: "At approximately 8.50am on Sunday officers attended a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A489 between Kerry and Sarn.

"One was a motorcycle that was ridden by Mr Thompson and the other vehicle was a mini bus with three people on board.

"Tragically Mr Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. The three people on board the mini bus were not injured but taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

"The road remained closed throughout the day whilst specialist officers' conducted a thorough investigation to establish the cause of the collision."
