Householder confronts knifeman on the stairs in Telford burglary

A Telford householder was confronted by a masked knifeman on the stairs in a burglary in the early hours.

West Mercia Police are investigating the aggravated burglary in the early hours of Thursday, July 16, at an address in Blakemoor, Brookside.

A police spokesman said: "At approximately 4am, the occupant was woken by loud banging. After going downstairs to investigate he was approached on the stairs by a male whose face was covered and was carrying a knife.

"The suspect then fled the scene, along with a further two males who had been in the living room."

During the burglary an X box and an Apple MacBook were stolen.

The suspect on the stairs was described as white, around five feet, two inches tall, of slim build and likely to be under the age of 18. He was wearing a white and blue Adidas top, a white scarf over his face and a black hat.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious at the time of the incident is urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 68 of July 16.
